GMA 7 won the battle against ABC 5 for acquiring the Idol franchise of Fremantle Media. The latter station has successfully aired the first season of Philippine Idol last year and crowned Mau Marcelo as the first Philippine Idol. But since the acquisition of Idol trademark has been transferred to GMA 7, it will not recognize the first season of Philippine Idol. As a matter of fact, they renamed the contest into “Pinoy Idol.” It is saddening to know that Mau Marcelo will not be recognized as the first Philippine Idol. She went to Indonesia last year to compete for the Asian Idol and received a standing ovation from one of the judges. Although she didn’t win, the judges liked her so much and she really gave her full effort for the said competition.

I can’t recall the day when I first stepped into the hallway of my school. Starting from an introvert individual, I can see that I had physically evolved and mentally challenged.
Why did I choose to take up computer science? Why not ECE, accountancy, or law? Would it be because we are in the world or age of computers? Could it be because of the widespread of computer games, internet use, blogs, or that cs is an in-demand course? Definitely not.
I couldn’t think of any reason why I chose this course but many reasons about shifting into another course keep coming out of my mind. I never dreamed about being a computer programmer- making my eyes blur, multiply the number of my white hairs from complicated machine problems.
